2. Fatty Fish
Tuna, herring, sardines, salmon, and mackerel are some of the examples of fatty fish. These fish are rich in healthy fats which assists in clearing arteries. Fatty fish contain omega-3 fatty acids that help to boost the ‘good cholesterol’ while minimizing triglyceride levels. This, in turn, helps in reducing blood clot formation in the arteries and inflammation of the blood vessels, which even lowers hypertension. The American Heart Association recommends people to consume fish at least twice a week to minimize plaque buildup. The most optimal ones for heart health are grilled and baked fish.
