7. Ulcer Growth
Lack of Vitamin D in the body causes inflammation as the body goes on an overdrive to fight the infection. It has been clinically found that if a person is suffering from ulcerative colitis, the lack of Vitamin D in the body would trigger greater action on it thereby increasing the size of ulcers. A study has shown that introduction of a nominal amount of vitamin D in an ulcer affected patients has improved the condition and reduced the size of the ulcer.
